There you set your roots.
gripping tight to the soil that secures you
the bark dripping from the rain, your skin becoming darker by the second
shake it off, as you move with the wind.
grow fruit grow big from life
hands around you waiting and watching for you pure white petals to form more
dirty faces licking their lips to drop you as fast as they can pick
you take your time to fill and grow.
Then they take and take leaving scars to heal the loss.
The sour squeeze scorns the skin on the soul
which the memories can’t hide.
but you dig in your roots deeper to continue to grow.
for no one can stop the green light shine through the darkness
you make the darkness, the darkness doe not make you.
