As I step out on my own path, I know where I have come from.

I’ve come from quiet strength, that settles within a person.

Resilience is in my blood to continue no matter the crimes against you,

We hold hope and love close to our hearts,

From poor farming families, we came, with nothing but a name.

Those around us take all we earn, but we work, but we learn.

From the sharp painful words jabbed in our ears, my kin raise above this noise, we raise up higher each step

Each parent warning more and more each time around, for my next steps I too want more for them.

The hard-working Saturday baby, working for a better life and for happier footsteps.

Our family’s pain, the emotional torment drives us all to succeed greatness beyond our dreams.

We all continue our family footsteps and grow with each step we take
